Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe

Why take a photo here?
Because it’s massive, majestic, and made for the camera. Whether you shoot from ground level at Place Charles de Gaulle or climb to the top for a panoramic city view, the Arc de Triomphe is one of the most iconic and photogenic spots in Paris. Framed by the Champs-Élysées or rising above the traffic circle, it gives your photo instant impact.

Best time to shoot:
Golden hour or after dark. The warm light of sunset enhances the carvings and brings out the textures. At night, the Arc is beautifully illuminated and the surrounding traffic creates dynamic light trails for long exposures.

Pro tip:
For a centered shot, stand at the start of Champs-Élysées (near Avenue des Champs-Élysées & Rue de Tilsitt intersection). Want something different? Go up to the rooftop (entry ticket needed) for one of the best Eiffel Tower views in Paris — especially magical during sunset or on Bastille Day when fireworks light up the skyline.
