Because you’ll get one of the most stunning panoramic views in Paris — and it’s completely free. From the rooftop of the iconic Galeries Lafayette Haussmann department store, you can see the Eiffel Tower rising behind classic Parisian rooftops, with the golden dome of Opéra Garnier nearby and the city’s skyline stretching out in every direction.

Best time to shoot:
Sunset. The light is soft, the rooftops glow, and the Eiffel Tower lights up in the distance. It’s also much quieter in the evening compared to midday.

Pro tip:
Take the elevator to the top floor (7th) and walk up the final flight to the rooftop terrace. Use a zoom lens or portrait mode to frame the Eiffel Tower between the rooftops. Arrive early for golden hour to secure a good spot — the terrace can get crowded at peak times.
